Whenever I write for my blog now, I’ve figured out what I need to do. If I sit here, trying to think of something fancy to talk about, it doesn’t work. I never come up with anything when I try.
But when I close my eyes, it works. Every time.
I have seen plenty of ceremonies now. I’ve seen different celebrants, pastors, little gigs or moments that make them a tad different from the others. I’ve seen brides stop the ceremony to say a few words. I thought I had seen it all.
I haven’t. And I learnt not to think like that.
I saw Nicholas go down on his knees, in front of all their guests, and put his head to the floor. I stopped and watched, and so did everyone else. He couldn’t walk past Christina’s parents without saying thank you, in the best way he thought possible.
It’s a moment that has made me think again about thinking I’ve seen it all.
